People who contribute to the greater collective of our communities form the National TPS Alliance. They are our neighbors, coworkers, friends, and family. They are embedded in our every day lives. Over 35 local committees of TPS holders nationwide are pushing for legislation for approximately 450,000 TPS holders to obtain permanent residency in the USA. This is a movement that has lives depending on it and we cannot do it alone. We need the power of unity and community to fight for the justice of all TPS holders and all immigrant communities.
What Can We Do?
Contact your representative
Civic engagement is key to closing the gap between those that represent and those that are represented. Although some representatives are aware of different social issues, it is important to contact your congressional representatives to remind them of our concerns, our needs, and the issues attacking our communities. We must continue to bring awareness around TPS and how it affects our communities. Our goal is to make an impact in the representatives’ minds and agendas.
In the link below, you will be taken to a page with a script to call your representatives. If you do not know where to contact your representative, simply write in your address in the search box on the same page and then a list of your representatives' contact information will appear.
There are currently two bills that the National TPS Alliance supports, The American Promise Act (House Representative) and the SECURE ACT (Senate). These bills are the most inclusive to TPS holders of all countries.
With your help, The National Alliance can continue to organize local and national efforts in the movement to protect and fight for TPS holders.
