TPS Holders to the Public: “Don’t be Afraid! Join the fight to SaveTPS!”
Los Angeles, CA – On Wednesday, November 15th community members with Temporary Protected Status (TPS), will hold a vigil and march outside of the Los Angeles Federal Building to denounce recent cancellation of TPS for Nicaragua, the inhumane limbo that Hondurans are left in and Haiti, as well as to invite others to join the fight to #SaveTPS for all!
According to USCIS nearly half a million people are currently protected from deportation and have work authorization by TPS. Its cancellation would not only be devastating for current holders of the status, but their families, children and could have devastating economic consequences for various industries throughout the US. TPS holders have lived lawfully in the United States for an average of 19 years, some for more than 24 years. They have US citizen children, many own homes, own business and have stable lives.
